The answer is yes. Obviously, we would like for you to call us first, most of the time we can initiate treatment to resolve the situation without hospitalization, and with our regular visits and communication with you and the facility staff, we most likely will notice these changes early. If your loved one is sent to the hospital you know if you have ever been to an ER, it’s a 4-5-hour ordeal, you get poked and prodded and lay there while waiting for results. But again, the same criteria regarding hospice is as I stated, ER observation? no need to come off service, hospitalization would be a discharge from hospice service.
